Godshill Model Village
Updated: Jul 9, 2019
This is a very cute, but intricate, model village in Godshill. The museum is surprisingly large and the models are really wonderful to admire. They depict the island and local areas, and it's a marvel to recognise places you've been, and to get ideas for those you have not! The models take around 1 hour to see, though you could move faster or slower of course....
We recommend combining the museum with a trip to one of the local cafe's for afternoon tea. Godshill has lots of choice for cream tea. We opted to try the Willow Tree Tea Garden before we went in due to its proximity to the museum. The scones were good, with plenty of tea and jam and cream. It wasn't wicker chairs and bone china, but it was still lovely to sit their pretty garden and to enjoy the food.
Key facts:
Fun for all ages, old and young
15mins by car from Ventnor
No cafe, but picnics are allowed
Cream tea available (...village wide!)
